- We have deliberately arranged this information so that you have to take time and and think about what you are doing before you apply to join the Faery Shamans Apprenticeship Program. All the instructions on how to apply are linked to this page. If you don't have the time or cannot generate the interest to read this page carefully you are not ready to join the Faery Shamans Apprenticeship Program.
- The Faery Shamans Apprenticeship Program does NOT teach ritual magic, witchcraft, drumming, runelore, necromancy, exorcism, channeling, mediumship, past-life regression, hypnotism, freemasonry, fortune-telling, astrology, geomancy, or anything other than the Celtic Faery Shamanism.
- We do not teach people how to be psychic.

We do NOT teach core shamanism. We teach CELTIC shamanism.
- Out of respect for the spiritual values of other peoples - we do not teach the traditions of the North or South American First Nations, Australian Aborigines, Siberian Shamans, or of any other ethnic or cultural group.

Why should I seek to enroll in the Faery Shamans Apprenticeship Program?
Because you have a true and deep-seated desire to learn more about the path of the Celtic Shaman.
In addition you are allowed to join a very special e-list, clasmyrddyn@yahoogroups.com, the study group of the Faery Shamans Apprenticeship Program. This group is for folks, like you, who want to learn more about the Celtic Tradition - who want to teach others what they have learned about the ancient paths walked by our Ancestors - who want to share their spiritual journey with others who are on the same path. Whether you are new to the Faery Faith or an 'old hand' you will find your way easier and your path brighter if you share it with others. BACK TO FAQ
Why do you want me to fill out a form?
The shaman's path is one of wisdom, power and beauty. Those who undertake to walk it must be truly dedicated and inspired. This is not a course of studies to be undertaken lightly or out of mere curiosity. When you fill out the form you are doing the following:
- Providing our Moderator with some information about yourself
- Entering into certain agreements with the SCS, which protect you and the Society
- Agreeing to abide by the Faery Shaman's Code of Ethics, which protects you and all our relations in this and Otherworlds

What about my privacy?
Neither the Society of Celtic Shamans nor any of its officers or trustees will ever give, sell, trade, exchange or in any way or under any conditions transmit the information on your registration form to anyone - ever. BACK TO FAQ
Is there an age requirement?
Yes, you must be 19 years of age or older. BACK TO FAQ
Is there a qualifying year?
Yes, the Celtic Shamans' path is only for those truly dedicated to walking in the ways of their Celtic ancestors. This is not the path for people who are mildly curious or looking for something new and exciting to do.
In the past certain people have presented themselves as apprentices who had absolutely no knowledge of our Celtic heritage and no evident desire to learn or come to a deeper understanding of the ways and traditions of our Celtic ancestors. If you have no desire to learn more about our Celtic heritage, myths, legends, history, or traditions you do not have a real calling to walk the path of the Celtic Shaman and you will gain nothing from our Faery Shamans Apprenticeship Program. This prequalifying year of study is designed to ensure you are truly called to this path and willing to dedicate yourself to your Celtic pathwork.
I am only willing to work with those who have proved they are serious and have the will and dedication to become worthy apprentices. Therefore, all applicants, regardless of age and experience, need to prove their sincerity and dedication to the Celtic Shamans' path by successfully completing one of the programs listed below.
- One year of the Hazel Grove School of Bardic Wisdom OR
- One year of the Oak Grove Ogham Masters Program

Do I need to be descended from Celtic people?
Yes, you MUST be descended from the Celtic speaking peoples of Western Europe (Gaul & Celtiberia—France, Belgium, Switzerland, Northern Spain), Britain, Wales, Ireland, Scotland or the Isle of Man to enroll in this particular program. You do not need to know the names of your ancestors back to the Stone Age. All you need is the knowledge that your people were originally from Gaul, Britain, Wales, Ireland, Scotland, or the Ilse of Man.
BACK TO FAQ
How much is the tuition fee?
The tuition fees for the Faery Shamans Apprenticeship Program are $180 for each twelve month program. There are no other fees or charges and no books for you to buy.
BACK TO FAQ
Do you ever make exceptions for folks who are on fixed incomes or unemployed?
No. The Faery Shamans path is one of mystery and great beauty but it is not always an easy path to follow. If you do not have the tuition fees at the time you wish to enroll this is because you are not yet ready to begin serious pathwork through our program. When the time is right for you to begin you will find the tuition is not a problem. BACK TO FAQ
When will my Faery Shamans Apprenticeship Program begin?
When we receive your $180 tuition fee you will be contacted within twenty-four hours. In that message you will be given all the details of when your program will start. Generally speaking, we start new students' in their programs around the 15th of each month. Should we fail to contact you within 48 hours after you have completed your enrolment, please contact us. Sometimes the web gremlins like to play tricks and messages may go astray. BACK TO FAQ
