It is a crisp autumn afternoon, sitting as a lotus on Meditation Rock, being
here with my ancestor and animal spirits; getting to know each other; having
a moment of comfortable silence in each others' presence. I had just gotten a
chance to meet them personaly earlier that day, although I knew their
presence to be familiar throughout my lifetime.
Overlooking the vast
vallies bellow that make up Georgia and South Carolina, a bright ochre leaf
shot off a tree and flew down the landscape. Following its path, I watched
the leaf take on a life of its own, evidence that the wind blows. Rising
and falling, constantly flapping in the wind, we are all still as the Zephyr
tells his tale.
The patch of sunshine dancing in perfect tempo, emerges from
behind the top of a tree and rose to new hights as a butterfly, it has to
be, zig-zaging across the horizon like that. "Am I looking at a butterfly?"
Serene yet Strong and Secure. Joy and Peace. What is this urge to stay
in the sky forever? I want to go sky diving next weekend, I have my courage
now.
