• From "A Week of Learning" by Danamar: "I want to speak about this week because something very important has come to my awareness: I have remembered how to be still. How to wait. How to see. Perhaps a small miracle in this modern, urban world that is so detached from the Mother and her cycles."
  
  
• From "Changing Winds" by Sophia Keller: "Today we had a distinct change in our winds, along with the calendar change of the month. The sky is overcast, with low-scudding clouds; not unusual for Seattle. But the wind has a complete different character today. It began as a frisky, playful breath from the northeast, tossing through the treetops. For the first time, I understood its color—it was distinctly a green wind, pale, almost apple green, a delicate pastel color."
  
  
• From "On a Note of Harmonies" by Druh Green: "Sometimes, when I am out at night, I hear songs of sorts. They are the melodies on the winds, music in the moonlight, dancing in the fire and pulsating from the earth."
  
  
• From "Spear of Lugh" by Marilyn Terhume-Young: "My meditations and journeys with the spirit of Lugh are very much in progress. I have called upon Lugh to help me with creative endeavors and problem solving in my life--to help me accomplish my creative goals by tapping into higher powers and using them to help myself and others.
  
  I am drawn to the spear as a metaphor for creativity, alchemy, and the ability to change thought and spirit into matter. The spear represents magic and the ability to bring about change through mediation and negotiation."
  
  
• From "The Summer of Soup" by Tira Brandon-Evans: "The Cauldron became an important symbol because it was important--more than that--it was central to the life of the family. Remember that so-called 'magical tools' were not just symbols of elemental powers.
  
  The spear was used for hunting and to defend the home. The sword was used to defend the home. The cauldron was used for cooking. Stone was used to build secure and cozy houses. Our ancestors lived on the razor's edge. They honoured the things that made it possible for them, their families, clans and tribes to survive and flourish."

  The April moon,
  heavy with brightness
  casts its light
  through a veil of cloud,
  illuminating the gauzy mist.
  
  She rises,
  moves through her
  slow dance,
  sheds veils
  one by one.
  Reveals her full face,
  sad eyes sunk
  in shadow,
  mouth opened,
  intoning a music
  so low
  I feel it only
  in my bones.
